Feb 9

Hello all,

We wanted to remind you that there is a den meeting tonight. Kristin will help teach the flag ceremony and Janet will lead Achievement 12 activities.
We have 2 more den meetings left to finish requirements for the boys to receive their patches at the Blue and Gold. I am including a link to a spreadsheet Janet found that will allow you to check off your son’s requirements and you can bring it to the den meeting on Feb. 27. I will turn in all awards and advancements up to that point to Kristin after that meeting. Your child can continue to earn awards and finish requirements throughout the year, but the 27th is the deadline to get awards presented at the Blue & Gold. I have also listed
a few upcoming events below. Please note the Blue and Gold date is a change from the calendar at the beginning of the year.

Please also remember to visit our website for info as needed: http://www.pack93.org and check the Wolf den blog as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us.
Thanks!
Mindy

Oct 25

Howdy, Wolves!

Please note: We are now den 6, not den 2! Let me know if you need a den 6 patch still…

Last night we accomplished many things:
-Feats of Skill (and Feats of Skill relay) Achievement 1
-Parts of Achievement 2 about the Flag (2a & 2c)
-Electives 4a, 4c and 11 a & b (singing Star Spangled Banner & My Country Tis of Thee)

Due to illness and low attendance (one scout) the Den Meeting scheduled for Mon. Oct. 3 was cancelled. That means that if you attended the Sept. 12 and Oct. 24 den meetings you are still eligible for the Den Perfect Attendance award.

If you missed last night, you are welcome to make up any of the achievements or electives mentioned above and email me to let me know they are complete: mindouglas@charter.net.
Kristin made a packet of additional patches that can be earned and handed them out at the meeting. There are also items each cub should be working on at home. If you complete any requirements at home, you can remind me at a meeting or send me an email so I can mark it down as completed.

If you want your child to participate in the Veteran’s Day Parade, or if you still have popcorn money to turn in, please contact Kristin, ASAP.

Lots of info was passed out last night at the meeting:
Info about Oakmont’s Trunk or Treat & the Veteran’s Day Parade
Our den calendar
Kristin’s packet about patches

If you need any of this info, please let me know.

THIS MONTH: WORK ON ACHIEVEMENTS 6 AND 8 AT HOME. Let me know when you’re done!
If you attended the day camp over the summer, you earned elective 23e.

If you completed Leave NO Trace training, don’t forget to show Kristin your poster or drawing….

See you at the next meeting!

Den Meeting Tonight!

posted by wolves
Oct 13

We will be working of requirements for Feats of Skill and other electives- should be fun!

Reminders:

Be working on Achievement 6 (starting a collection) and Achievement 8 (Cooking and Eating) at home during the month of October.    Let your den leader know when these are completed.  You can tell us at the den meeting or email Mindy:   mindouglas@charter.net.    For Achievement 8, the outdoor cooking part was completed at the campout.   We will go over the food pyramid during a den meeting.

If you attended the fishing rodeo, click on the link from our website about sports belt loops to see if your son met requirements.   Let us know!

If your child participated in the Leave No Trace workshop at the campout, remember to bring in a poster (or sheet of paper) related to what he learned about Leave No Trace to earn the Leave No Trace Badge.  Tell a den leader or Ms. Kristin when this is done.

Don’t forget the popcorn sales.   The popcorn money is due Oct. 24.   Remember to make one check payable to Pack 93.

Tonight at the den meeting is the last day to sign up for the campout.   Don’t forget!

At the last den meeting we worked on our flag and also created our den chant.   If you missed it, we can teach you the chant as we sit around the campfire :)    It will be a blast!    Creating the den flag counts as elective 12 e, so if you were here, be sure to mark it off in your book.

The Wolf Den will be organizing the dinner as part of Achievement 8 from the book  (Preparing an outdoor meal).   We will make an announcement at the campout for the time the wolves and their families to help set up for dinner.

If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to get a copy of the Wolf handbook.   Parents, you can sign in the book and mark each achievement your child completes both at home and in den meetings.    The den leaders will check with you near the beginning of each den meeting to make sure your child gets credit and earns awards.

During each den meeting we will work on some of the achievements and electives from the book, and some of them will need to be done at home.  The first “at home” chapter of the book will be Achievement 6:  Start a Collection.    As soon as your child completes this, mark it in the book and bring your collection to the den meeting for a show and tell if you like.    Also, check the link on our website for beltloop requirements for collecting and let a den leader know if your child earns it.

Our next den meeting will be Thursday, October, 13.     We will work on Achievement 1: Feats of Skill.
